Canadian Pop star Carly Rae Jepsen performed at the Greek Theater last night in her hometown since 2019 Los Angeles, CA. Jepsen started to come to fame back in 2007 placing third in the fifth season of Canadian Idol at the age of 22. A year later she released her debut album Tug of War and had breakthrough success four years later with her Gold selling album Kiss which just hit its 10th anniversary exactly a month ago from yesterday. Kiss contained the singles “Call Me Maybe,” “Good Time,” “This Kiss,” and “Tonight I’m Getting Over You.” Jepsen co-wrote 10 of the 12 tracks. Jepsen would then open for Hanson in Canada and Justin Bieber across the globe. By 2013, Jepsen had her first of four headline tours and in 2018 opened for Katy Perry in North America. Her current tour The So Nice Tour began September 21st in Cleveland, OH and the Greek was the 18th show. Empress Of has been the opening act since October 9th and will be the opener for the remainder of the tour. Jepsen appeared in an episode of 90210 (2012), Shake It Up (2013), performed on Saturday Night Live in 2015, and sang the theme song for the Full House reboot Fuller House in 2016.
Jepsen’s newest release The Loneliest Time will be coming out in just two days. It was easy to see how many die-hard fans were at the show, especially in the very front shouting out the words to entire songs right from the start. Jepsen performed an astonishing 26 songs and
of the four singles from The Loneliest Time she performed “Western Wind,” “Beach House,” and “Talking to Yourself.” Jepsen is the definition of performer as she was constantly moving around the stage and trading words back and forth with the audience like on “Call Me Maybe.” The production was very clever with cloud props around the stage, a large screen with a staircase, and just the overall layout with the band. Jepsen was wearing a very sparkly outfit and had a crystal covered microphone and stand.
The last North American date of The So Nice Tour will be at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, IL November 5th. Jepsen has eight dates scheduled in February in the U.K. in 2023
