BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc.) will present its signature panel “How I Wrote That Song” at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Week at the Faena Forum in Miami on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. The panelists will include an all-female roster featuring Latin GRAMMY award-winning songstress Ana Bárbara, up-and-coming Mexican sensation Ivonne Galaz, Latin GRAMMY-nominated rising star Lupita Infante and one of Billboard’s “Latin Artists to Watch” Adriana Ríos. BMI’s Director of Creative, Latin, Teresa Romo will moderate the conversation as the panelists discuss their success and opportunities for women songwriters in the regional Mexican genre.
“We are thrilled to feature an all-female ensemble for BMI’s ‘How I Wrote That Song’ this year at Billboard Latin Music Week. For more than ten years, our panel has included some of the best emerging and most influential artists in the industry speaking on their artistry and creative process,” said Romo. “This group of leading female songwriters is no different as they have pushed through the boundaries and continue to play a pivotal role in the evolution of regional Mexican music. Thank you to Billboard for giving our songwriters a platform to share their music and talk about the stories behind their biggest hits.”

Galaz is making a name for herself in the regional urban scene, as she became Rancho Humilde’s first female signee in November 2020 and released her debut single “A Mi Modo,” which was the label’s first solo release by a female artist. Ríos is one of the emerging female voices in the regional Mexican genre, having shared the stage with acclaimed artists like Los Ángeles Azules, Julio Preciado, María José and Fidel Rueda, among others. “La Catedral,” “Hoy Dame El Gusto,” and “Ya No Me Importa,” are among some of her most popular songs.
