BMG Chrysalis US announced the acquisition of X-Ray Dog Music. The Burbank based independent production music library led by owners Mitch Lijewski and Tim Stithem contains over 4,000 tracks, covering a broad collection of high quality music.
Under the arrangement, the X-Ray Dog staff and Lijewski will join BMG's L.A. office. Lijewski will now serve as SVP, BMG Production Music North America, and will oversee the company's production music activities in the US.
The deal, along with the fall acquisition of L.A.-based production library Music Beyond and the existing Selectracks library, strengthens BMG's flourishing film and TV business and provides a robust foundation for the company to build upon.
"X-Ray Dog is a key acquisition for BMG as we amplify our US production music division to provide our clients with access to the ideal tracks for various projects," said Laurent Hubert, Creative & Marketing at BMG Chrysalis North America. "There is an increased need for pre-cleared music and the addition of X-Ray Dog's unparalleled library offers seamless, one-stop-shop licensing."
"I feel extremely fortunate and privileged to have the opportunity to lead BMG's North American production music business," said Lijewski. "Laurent and his team are the best in the industry -- innovative, creative and deeply respectful of the artists they represent. We will continue to focus on producing high quality, premium music with dedicated client service."
