Bluey Can't Do Without His iTunes Library,  and more

Jean-Paul Maunick, better known as Bluey--guitarist, band leader, songwriter and producer of British bands Citrus Sun, STR4TA and his 45-year-old flagship band Incognito--told us about his iTunes love.

Bluey: The expectation would be that it would be my guitar, but the truth is that I can cope well without it!

But… I can’t do without my iTunes library consisting of 20,527 tunes. I still find inspiration from my record collection and listening to them puts me in the correct frame of mind to explore my own creativity. I bought all 20,527 cuts and can listen without being online at anytime anyplace. I have notes on the lyric pages about the recordings and stories behind them. Prior to having a laptop and my digital library it was a suitcase full of cassettes and various mobile tape players.

I write almost every day, so to complete my creative needs I also can’t do without my iPhone voice memo to sing melodies and pen and paper to write down lyrical and production ideas. Prior to having a mobile phone, I travelled with a Dictaphone and a pocketful of mini cassettes everywhere I went.

I have either been touring the world or been locked away in the music sanctuary that is the recording studio for almost five decades and those as the saying goes are the things I can’t do without!

Citrus Sun's Anaconga is out now.
