For the next episode of “FAR-West Teaches” series, FAR-West (Folk Alliance Region West) will present “Soloing for Songwriters ~ Anyone Can Take the Lead” on September 2nd at 2 PM PDT, featuring The Immediate Family's Steve Postell and Tariqh Akoni.
Between them, Tariqh Akoni & Steve Postell have played guitar in almost every imaginable circumstance; from film & TV scores, to Broadway shows, to performing live and in the studio with artists including Stevie Wonder, Josh Groban, David Crosby, Kenny Loggins, Elton John, John Oates, Jennifer Warnes and The Immediate Family, just to name a few. And whether in a stadium, the studio, or the corner bar, they have often been asked to provide exciting guitar solos. In this workshop, they will reveal some of the basic and easily accessible tools that players at any level can use to pull off a sweet sounding lead, even if you have only just accompanied your songs playing rhythm guitar parts. Remember … ANYONE CAN TAKE THE LEAD!
