Earlier this week the BET Hip Hop Award Nominees were announced, with legendary Atlanta producer and artist ATL Jacob, up for the Producer of the Year award alongside Baby Keem, Hit-Boy, Hitmaka, Kanye West, Metro Boomin, Pharell Williams. The nomination comes on the heels of the BMI R&B Hip-Hop Awards in which Jacob took home the Top Producer Award alongside Kanye West, Charlie Handsome, Rogét Chahayed, Isaac “Zac” De Boni, and Michael “Finatik” Mulé. “The star studded ceremony hosted by BMI president & CEO Mike O’Neill and BMI vice president, creative (Atlanta) Catherine Brewton saluted songwriters, producers and music publishers of the past year’s 35 most-performed R&B/hip-hop songs in the U.S. from BMI’s repertoire,” as stated in Billboard. To commemorate his win, Jacob hosted a private dinner ceremony in Miami. In attendance were some of his closest family and friends as well as key industry heads including Future, Polow da Don, BMI Executive Director, Creative (Atlanta) Byron Wright and Director of A&R in Atlanta for SONY Music, Jamin Whatley, to name a few. |
