SXSW Songs 2024
ASCAP is a presenting sponsor of the SXSW Songs 2024 writing camp, which takes place from March 11 - 13. The pop song camp was created for established producers, songwriters and artists with commercial co-writing credits. It brings together a curated group of 15 - 20 songwriters from all over the world for a three-day collaboration to create new potential hit songs, and wraps up with an official SXSW listening party on Thursday, March 14.
SXSW Songs' first four editions have produced eight commercial cuts and identified up and coming songwriters and producers such as Grammy Award-winner Peter “Lostboy” Rycroft (Kylie Minogue) and global hitmakers James “Yami” Bell (Tiesto) and Victoria Zaro (Tate McRae).
Highlights for SXSW Songs 2024 include a first-time Latin track featuring Juno Award-winning, Grammy and Latin Grammy Award-nominated production duo Banx & Ranx, as well as Brazilian artist/songwriter Nonô. A strong AAPI contingent is another first for the event with the participation of producer Jondren (Hwang), and new 88rising signing Fussy. And Australia’s Alice Ivy will take the controls in keeping with SXSW Songs' commitment to women producers. Other camp sponsors include The Orchard, Sound Royalties and TRO Essex Music.
