This is a strong cross-section of contempo- rary country that embraces traditional roots as well. A native of Maryland—by way of N.Y.C.—vocalist Risa Binder claims to be a city girl who has always had an affinity for rural life. She delivers in a big way here as a competent interpreter of song as well as a notable songwriter in her own right.
