Multi-platinum alternative rock band AFI have signed an exclusive worldwide deal with Republic Records and are gearing up for the fall 2013 release of their ninth full-length studio album.
The Cali-based band recorded with producer Gil Norton (Pixies, Patti Smith, Foo Fighters) at East West Studios in Los Angeles. The record was mixed by Andrew Scheps (Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers).
"We are thrilled to be joining the Republic family for the release of our ninth record," says lead singer Davey Havok. "We've spent over two years realizing this album and could not be more excited to share it with all."
Over the course of the past several weeks, AFI (Havok, guitarist Jade Puget, bassist Hunter Burgan and drummer Adam Carson) have posted a series of starkly shot black and white vignettes, the first of which debuted in early April. Together with director surround (The Killers, TV On the Radio, The Drums, Usher, The Bravery), they’ve created five to date, all of which can be seen at www.afireinside.net.
This September, the band will perform at the Riot Fest & Carnival in Chicago (Sept 13-15) and at the Riot Fest and Sideshow in Denver (Sept 21-22), with details for a full headlining tour coming soon.
