Redeye, the North Carolina-based North American independent distributor, has acquired Sweden-based music distribution company Border Music.
Continuing to operate as Border Music with a warehouse in Göteborg, the deal allows Border access to Redeye’s worldwide digital and physical distribution, including joint development of extensive proprietary digital analytic tools for labels through Border’s B2B.
With the acquisition, Redeye’s European digital team expands to six reps with offices in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark in addition to London and Berlin.
“In many ways, Border Music resembles Redeye both in the culture of the company as well as the services offered, said Aaron Freeman, COO of Redeye. “The partnership makes strategic sense for all involved.”
“I am excited to expand the reach and capabilities of Border Music while doubling down on the core services that have been our hallmark for more than 30 years,” adds Pelle Erikson, Managing Director of Border Music.
Early releases under the deal include Drive-By Truckers (ATO), Born Ruffians (Yep Roc), James Hunter Six (Daptone) Beach Bunny (Mom+Pop) Banoffee (Cascine), Pet Shop Boys (AWAL) and Jonathan Wilson (Bella Union).
