A new Vinyl Alliance consisting of key players across the value chain was presented at the recent Making Vinyl Hollywood, a B2B event for the physical music industry. The main goal of the Vinyl Alliance is to strengthen the position of vinyl records in a digital world. Members will pool resources and collaborate on research, quality and marketing activities.
Strengthen vinyl records in a digital world
The idea for the Vinyl Alliance was born in Berlin at the last Making Vinyl where participants discussed the position of vinyl records in a digital world. How can they excite artists, labels and consumers for this beautiful music format? A joint effort of companies across the value-chain was needed.
The Vinyl Alliance is determined to turn up the volume and promote vinyl records as a modern way to consume music. Members will collaborate in research, engage in quality initiatives and initiate marketing activities. Supporting members include GZ Media (Pressing), KDG (Pressing), Making Vinyl (Facilitator), Masterdisk (Mastering Studio), MPO (Pressing), Ortofon (Hardware), Pro-Ject (Hardware), Audio-Technica (Hardware), Rebeat Innovation (Technology) The Analogue Foundation (Lifestyle), and Vinylize (Lifestyle). Other members will be confirmed soon and include labels, manufacturers, pressing plants and dealers.
New members are welcome
Right now the legal framework and membership details are being set up. The latest information will be available at vinylalliance.org. Companies, who are interested in becoming a member or want to collaborate with the Alliance, can contact Bryan Ekus (Making Vinyl) via [email protected].
