You could start with an uptempo song, and turn it into a moody, down-tempo cover version, or vice versa. You could also pick an old Heavy Metal classic and create a cover version using Hip-Hop or Country arrangements. Covers can be stripped-down and minimalist, or you can send fuller productions with more instrumentation. Be sure to have a compelling vocal from start to finish.
They especially need covers that could potentially play over ironic scenes—like how this version of "What A Wonderful World" would play over a huge 20 car pile-up crash.

The estimated license fee for these placements is (up to) $2,000, depending on the ultimate use. This company offers an exclusive deal, so please be sure the covers you submit for this pitch aren’t already signed to another library or catalog.
Although there are no performance royalties, you’ll get 50% of the master license fee. You must own or control your master rights. Please submit as many cover songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a Yes/No basis by a TAXI A&R person selected by the client—short critiques only. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Saturday, Oct. 12.
