A date has been set for the 2018 Recording Industry Golf & Poker Tournament™ (RIGT), which will be held Monday, June 4, at Sand Canyon Golf Club (formerly known as Robinson Ranch Golf Club) in Santa Clarita, CA, with the shotgun start at 12:00 noon. Last year’s event was the first to also feature a Texas hold ‘em poker tournament – a very popular addition that has been upgraded to shared co-billing on this year’s event.
The RIGT is again being organized by seasoned event producer Karen Dunn of KMD Productions, LLC and will support the music program at A Place Called Home, a community center and safe haven in South Central Los Angeles where underserved youth 8-21 years old are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, arts, and well-being. Recording veterans Ed Cherney and Al Schmitt will return as Honorary Co-Chairs for the afternoon’s festivities.
The list of participating sponsors is growing by the day, and as of this week confirmed sponsors include Audio-Technica, Bob Hodas Acoustical Design, Clyne Media, David M. Angress Consulting, IK Multimedia, Lurssen Mastering, NAMM | TEC Awards, Resonate Studios and The Recording Studio Insurance Program.
Dunn is now accepting participation entries, whether as sponsors, golfers or both. In addition to the 18 holes of pristine golfing, the day will include a $1 million shoot-out opportunity, a hole-in-one Harley Davidson motorcycle giveaway, great food, a reception and awards dinner, and more. Dunn and the industry veteran Rose Mann-Cherney will be driving the “world famous tequila cart” to make sure all of the day’s participants are playing their best.
