LANDMARKS LIVE - In Concert’ is a rebirth of music on television, presenting the world with music—the universal language and a uniting feature of the human experience.
On July 10, ‘A legendary band playing a legendary venue’ was a big dream turned into reality when the multiple Grammy Award-winning rock band, Foo Fighters, performed at the historic Odeon of Herodes Atticus on the southwest slope of Acropolis, in Athens. The 2500 hundred years ‘venue’—give or take a few years—is still rocking.
The critically acclaimed PBS performance showcases are a City Drive Films production, co-produced with Bungalow Media + Entertainment. Premiering in January, the one-night only live concert/performances by international superstars are a dream imaged by Daniel E. Catullo III, CEO, visionary, producer, and creator of the PBS music docs-series.
Hosted by drummer Chad Smith of the multi-Grammy winning rock band, Red Hot Chili Peppers, the full concert productions or intimate live settings are performed and filmed at places of historical significance around the world.
Every live music episode is artist-driven, featuring an intimate travelogue component with Smith conducting very personal one-on-one interviews with the iconic artists as they explore the landmarks of rich historical significance.
The Foo Fighters’ LANDMARKS LIVE - In Concert, a Great Performances Special edition will feature hits such as, “Times Like These” and “Everlong." Audiences will also get the first look at a few songs on Foo Fighter’s upcoming ninth studio album, Concrete and Gold, via RCA Records, scheduled to drop on Sept. 15. The full episode will air on Nov. 10, on PBS. Check your local listings for the particular time in your area.
Regarding performing in the historical landmark, ”We’ve done some crazy things over the last 20 years, but I think this might be the craziest thing the Foo Fighters have ever done," Grohl remarked in a press release.
