Now in its second year, the Oregon Summer Concerts: Guitars Under The Stars three-day music festival in Lebanon, OR is confirmed for Friday, Aug. 7, through Sunday, Aug. 9. Celebrating three varied nights of music focusing on the guitar genre, the family-friendly Guitars Under The Stars weekend is returning after a triumphant debut in 2014.
Held at the bucolic Cheadle Lake Park in Lebanon, OR the festival celebrates both national and local talent, with an emphasis on guitar-driven music. Beyond live performances, guitarists of all ages and skill levels are invited to take part in one of six clinics on site, with kids being encouraged to take up music. Festival organizers are working with Oregon-area music stores--like 5 Star Guitars in Hillsboro and McKenzie River Music in Eugene--to provide new guitars to local area kids who would not otherwise get the opportunity to pursue their interest in music. Campers can participate in after-hours entertainment once the main musical acts are finished including acoustic performances and comedy segments. Mr. Tie Dye will be displaying the world's largest Tie Dye labyrinth consisting of 7'x10' individual panels that will make up the 100x100 foot square Labyrinth. Each panel is truly a work or art and not by any means your ordinary Tie Dye.
"Our festival is about more than a rock concert or a party--anyone can put on a concert." says Oregon Summer Concerts' Co-Founder Jason Alan Cripe. "We want music fans and their families to come for the weekend, camp out and enjoy the eclecticism of the three different nights. We've created a family-friendly environment where like-minded music fans can gather and enjoy a wide array of rock and blues music. This event is designed to inspire!"
Tickets for the shows are available as a three-day package and individually, and there is an array of on-site camping options as well.
