Indo Warehouse is a NYC-based music collective and label featuring co-founder Kahani and rising artist Jeff Veliz. They say that the roots of the project is a "wild mix."
"Some of us have been DJing for nearly 30 years, while others are just a year in," they collectively say. "What makes us unique is that we come from all sorts of backgrounds: DJs, producers, dancers, musicians—you name it. We blend all those influences into our craft. For us, it’s never about one thing over another, but about creating an experience that speaks to people on all levels."
They refer to their sound as "Indo House."
"We take deep inspiration from the South Asian diaspora and fuse it seamlessly with the global dance music vibe," they say. "It’s an authentic blend of culture and rhythm that’s made to move you."
Their latest release is "Chaiyya II."
"It’s a game-changer for us," they say. "We’ve been waiting for a record like this. It features a sample (all cleared!) from the legendary A.R. Rahman—something we all grew up with. Kahani and Jeff Veliz totally flipped it and took it to another level."
As for gear: "For live sets, we’re all about that Pioneer gear: 4 CDJ 3000s, a V10 mixer, and the RMX1000 effects unit. The 4 decks give us so much flexibility—whether it’s remixing on the fly or going full B2B mode. On the production side, we’re all on Ableton, with a mix of in-the-box and analog gear to keep things fresh and unique."
Looking ahead, Indo Warehouse has plenty planned for 2025.
"We’re bringing the heat to INDOCHELLA," they say. "Our first Coachella performance is going to be next-level, and we’re working hard to craft a brand new show for it. We’re also super excited about the future of our label—looking to sign more Indo House producers and keep pushing the sound forward."
