Bobbie Dazzle Can't Do Without Their Yamaha YFL372 flute

Siân Greenway of glitter rock band Bobbie Dazzle told us about her love for her Yamaha YFL372 flute.

Siân Greenway: My favorite piece of gear? Without a doubt, it's my Yamaha YFL372 flute. I know, a flute in rock music sounds like I'm out here auditioning for Jethro Tull 2.0, but hear me out. This thing is the secret sauce that no one saw coming in my music. Sure, most people think of flutes as dainty and classical, but when I plug this bad boy into my pedalboard and crank the reverb & delay, it turns into a sonic beast.

The YFL372’s silver-plated body gives it a bright, piercing tone that cuts through the guitars and drums like a laser. Plus, the split E mechanism? Absolute game-changer. Those high notes pop out clear as day, even when I’m battling a wall of feedback. It's like the Yamaha folks knew some rogue flautist was going to try to sneak this thing into a rock band.

Honestly, I can’t imagine doing a set without it now. The looks on people’s faces when I break out the flute during a heavy riff? Priceless. If Yamaha ever stops making this thing, I might have to stage a one-person protest outside their headquarters!

Bobbie Dazzle's Fandabidozi album is out October 4 via Rise Above Records.
