Iran-born, Canada-raised DJ and producer Nostalgix started DJing in 2017 when she fell in love with electronic music.
I played DJ sets around my hometown (Vancouver, BC) and fell even more in love with dance music," she says. "In 2018 I made a commitment to go all in on becoming the best musician I can be. I started learning production, and never looked back."
Nostalgix describes her sound today as, "powerful, high energy, electric." Her latest release is "I AM A GOD," a collaboration with Whipped Cream.
"'I AM A GOD' is about embracing your most fierce self. It's standing in your highest power to go after what you want in life," she says. "No limitations, no fear, no doubts. Only confidence. I love WHIPPED CREAM. She's amazing. I've said this since day one, but I think she's such an incredibly talented artist, and SUCH a powerhouse. It was very fitting for the both of us to get together and make such a powerful record. Had sooo much fun working on this project."
As for gear: "I produce on the road a lot, so I keep my gear very minimal. I usually do everything with my laptop, Ableton, and headphones. I've recently started travelling with a AKAI Professional MPK Mini MK3 which is a midi keyboard controller. It's been really fun to use on tour."
Looking ahead, Nostalgix has plenty planned for the rest of 2024.
"This year has been absolutely incredible so far. I started the year with my 'Star City' North American Tour and am currently on my 'Worldwide' Tour travelling through Europe," she says. "I've got some reallyyyyy incredible records and shows planned for the rest of the year. So stay tuned!! x"
