G&D, a creative and spiritual fOnkadelic husband and wife duo, Georgia Anne Muldrow and Dudley Perkins, have released a special edition 7-inch vinyl through their own label, SomeOthaShip Connect. The A-side features "PopStopper," which BrooklynVegan described as a "gem" and the B-side features "Muthadear," which honors the intuition of heart, soul and flesh that is the mother figure. "Muthadear" will also be available online in time for Mothers Day weekend.
Over the past month G&D have been busy gearing up for the release of their album. They have released the single and video for "PopStopper," released a podcast of a rare live performance from Cape Town, South Africa, and have announced album release performances on both coasts, first at Brooklyn Bowl in New York on May 21 and then at Low End Theory in Los Angeles on May 22.

Muldrow's catalog includesWorthnothings, Umsindo, and Kings Ballad and has a similarly diverse group of collaborators like Erykah Badu, Robert Glasper, Mos Def, Bilal, Wajeed, Sa-Ra and many other independent acts. Currently based out of Las Vegas, the couple are strict vegans, lead a healthy lifestyle and use the music of G&D as a way to uplift the vibration of consciousness. Their sophomore album The Lighthouse will be released on May 21st and follows 2010'sSomeOthaShip.
