Los Angeles dark alt-rocker Devon Thompson told us about her love for her Gibson SG, as she exclusively premiered new video "Straightjacket" with us.
Devon Thompson: A piece of gear I can’t live without now is my Gibson SG. I have been playing big hollowbodys for a long time now and randomly I picked up an SG at Gibson to try it out and it changed my life.
Since I have a smaller build, the guitar itself is much easier for me to play. Mostly because it sits just right in my midsection. I’ve been able to move around easier on stage with it and I find that it handles solos much better than the previous guitar I was using.
Being that I play mostly as a trio, the guitar that I use is very important. I was so surprised how well it complimented my songs. I definitely won't be going without this guitar! Also side note, another piece of gear that I have been loving is the Julia pedal by Walrus Audio. It’s got the perfect chorus warble and adds so much sparkle to certain songs.
