The Collection of Sir Elton John: Goodbye Peachtree Road The Exhibition

“The Collection of Sir Elton John: Goodbye Peachtree Road” exhibition is now open at Christie’s Rockefeller Center, through 21 February. The exhibition features the contents from the two live and six online sales, open to the public and free of admission.

Christie’s Rockefeller Center galleries will be transformed into the Elton John universe, showcasing his discerning eye across various categories. The exhibition highlights a photographic odyssey that begins in Atlanta, featuring significant works by renowned photographers such as Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Diane Arbus, and Robert Frank. This carefully curated collection offers a comprehensive showcase of the legendary musician's distinctive taste, creating a lively tribute to the multifaceted aspects of the Elton John aesthetic within the realm of art and design.

The journey through his extensive photography collection intertwines with his singular vision and appreciation for unique works of art, including pieces by Deborah Butterfield, Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst, and more.

Featured in the exhibition is a Collector's Edition Pinball Machine designed by John Youssi and JP De Win for Jersey Jack Pinball, which will be offered in the evening sale on 21 February. The proceeds from this lot will benefit the Elton John AIDS Foundation. The machine is signed by Elton John with the inscription: “With Love from the Pinball Wizard, Elton John.”

The exhibit encompasses all aspects of the Versace lifestyle, featuring stage costumes and decorative art displayed as Elton John’s personal closet. Additionally, a detailed exploration of Elton John's jewelry and watch collection will be on display in the salon.

In tandem with the exhibition, Christie's presents the Elton John Pop-Up Gift Shop. This specialty Pop-Up will offer a curated selection of Elton John Eyewear, apparel, vinyl, and accessories, many available for physical sale in the USA for the first time.
