Big Loud Records has announced the signing of Zandi Holup to its roster of recording artists

Born in Pennsylvania, Holup began writing songs when she was 12. She drifted through the Northeast, then to the West Coast before relocating to Nashville six years ago to pursue her musical dreams. Inspired by the folk singer-songwriter movement of the 1960s, her true-to-life lyrics and affinity for melancholy are no surprise, citing trailblazers like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and Dolly Parton as her musical heroes.
“I've always felt extremely connected to storytellers,” adds Holup. “I come from a creative family and grew up listening to artists whose influence led me to put the poetry I'd been writing to music.”
Holup's first offering, “Gas Station Flowers,” arrives Oct. 6. Recorded at Music Garden Studios, the song was produced by Al Torrence, producer and guitarist in Charles Wesley Godwin's backing band, The Allegheny High, who also played on the recording.

Penning over 150 songs in the past two years, Holup recently signed a publishing deal with Arthouse Entertainment and TurnTable Music in partnership with Universal Music Publishing.
