Plena Libre, the GRAMMY-nominated masters of the Puerto Rican styles of plena and bomba, comes to the University of Chicago this week as the University’s newest Don Michael Randel Ensemble in Residence. Join the group for three public events including a plena dance workshop (registration requested) with the “bombera de corazón” Ivelisse Diaz and a feature concert with Plena Libre and the University of Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
All events are free and open to the public.
