Psychedelic Los Angeles band Warpaint played a benefit concert called "YAAAASS!" at the Fais Do-Do Club last Saturday, Feb. 28, to raise money for the proposed “Youth in Rock” program at John Marshall High School.

“As many school districts cut performing arts programs that offer transformative experiences to students, new research reveals how these classroom experiences increase overall intelligence and well-being in today's kids. Raising money to fund classes at John Marshall High School will provide students in grades (9-12) with an exciting modern band curriculum. Students will be able to record and perform music in a safe and supportive environment that fosters individual creativity, personal growth and the development of their long-term professional, vocational and educational goals.”

Followed by an after party for VIP ticket holders, the concert was an intimate experience for Warpaint’s local fans. The band also played their single “No Way Out” that was released four days prior to the event, the first of a series of new songs being released this year.

Warpaint will head to a European tour in mid-March with shows scheduled in Czech, Belgium, France, Netherlands and the UK, but will return to California shortly after to headline at the Desert Daze Festival on May 2 in Mecca.
