Extreme Music, the production music arm of SonyATV Music, recently brought one of its highest profile artists, Two Steps From Hell, founded by Hollywood’s trailer score heroes, Nick Phoenix and Thomas Bergersen, to the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Taking place on June 14, 2013, the event featured a live performance of the duo’s most successful tracks.
Two Steps From Hell founders Bergersen and Phoenix showcased a slew of “Epic Orchestral” scores live for the first time ever. As seen above, the event featured a 70-piece orchestra and 60-person choir.
A major part of Extreme’s catalog, Two Steps From Hell have provided sonic backdrops for some of the biggest films in recent years including The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, OZ: The Great and Powerful, Olympus Has Fallen, Skyfall and Lincoln, as well as video games such as Battlefield 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Mass Effect 3-Rebellion.
With such success in trailers, Two Steps From Hell have also created an ever-growing loyal following making the duo successful on iTunes—each of their last three releases enjoying Top 10 success including “Invincible” reaching the No 1 spot on the Classical charts.
“It’s no secret Two Steps From Hell has defined the sound of the Hollywood movie trailer,” says Russell Emanuel, Founder and CEO, Extreme Music. “Unprecedented public demand has made this concert an inevitability and we are privileged to be making it a reality.”
