Bob Seger Rides Out on Tour

Bob Seger played a sold out show at the Los Angeles Forum. At 69, Seger is still rocking arenas nationwide and sounds better than ever. Seger is touring in support of his latest release Ride Out, out on Capitol Records, which is his first release in eight years and second release in 19 years. Seger has so many hits that he has a combined 30 songs over two Greatest Hits albums. He performed a nearly two-hour set including “Mainstreet,” “Old Time Rock N’ Roll,” “Her Strut,” “Like A Rock,” “Travelin’ Man,” “We’ve Got Tonight,” “Turn The Page,” and a double encore of “Against The Wind,” “Hollywood Nights,” “Night Moves,” and “Rock and Roll Never Forgets.”

A great artist always needs a great band, and for the last 45 years, the Silver Bullet band has been huge part for Seger’s unforgettable sound. From Live Bullet, one of Seger’s best-selling albums, the band members still on tour were two key members: Chris Campbell, bass; and Alto Reed, sax. Although Seger had a five-piece horn section, Reed shared the spotlight like a lead guitarist as his incredible sax work is featured throughout the show. Returning on drums from Seger’s last tour was Grand Funk Railroad’s Don Brewer. Ride Out may be Seger’s finally album but hopefully not the last tour as he still gives 110% every night and leaves the audience wanting more.
