Yanni and Movember Raise Men’s Health Awareness
Musical artist Yanni is teaming up with Movember to raise awareness and funds for cancers affecting men. Every November, men are challenged to register at movember.com, start the month clean-shaven and then grow a moustache all month long. The moustache becomes the hairy ribbon for men’s health and the guys growing them become a walking billboard for 30 days. The growth of a new moustache sparks hundreds of conversations about the seemingly taboo topics of men’s health and prostate cancer. This November will mark the fourth Movember campaign in the U.S., which will continue to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) and LiveStrong. In 2009, over 28,000 men grew moustaches to raise more than $3.2 million for beneficiary partners. To date, over 650,000 moustaches have been grown, raising over $100 million for beneficiaries. Yanni is challenging men and women around the globe to register to join the campaign at movember.com. Fans can also visit us.movember.com/mospace/1160060 to register as part of his team. Women who register to join the campaign act as ambassadors for the Mo, spreading the word and showing their support for the men in their lives.
