Deftones To Perform Benefit Concert In Support Of Injured Bassist

Deftones is set to perform at Avalon in Hollywood, CA, Nov. 19 to support The Chi Cheng Special Needs Trust. Tickets for this show are available now at www.livenation.com. The benefit is to assist Deftones’ bassist Chi Cheng who was seriously injured in a car accident. As a result of the injuries sustained in the crash, Cheng fell into a coma. Following the accident, Cheng’s band mates and mother, Jeanne, began using the Deftones blog to post updates on Cheng’s condition. There is now a digital ‘get well soon’ card on MySpace that fans from all over the world can sign. Many fans and celebrities have posted comments. Brian “Head” Welch and his long-time friend Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu, along with members of Sevendust, Slipknot, and other miscellaneous rock bands recently recorded and released an instrumental song for Chi, with the benefits going towards Chi and his family. The song is entitled “A Song for Chi.” Deftones ask that you donate your time, and join them at this benefit concert, to help this very important cause, that is very close to their hearts.
