Compilation Album Sales Assist NYC Organization
A benefit album produced for 826NYC — the writing and tutoring center founded by Dave Eggers (”Where The Wild Things Are”, “A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius”) — was released this week. Titled, “Songs From The Point,” artists recruited for the project included Andrew Bird, DeVotchKa, Martha Wainwright, Nada Surf, Dawn Landes, Sex Mob, Catherine Russell, Jim Campilongo, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Wheel. The album is a collection of new interpretations of the songs from Harry Nilsson’s 1971 film/soundtrack “The Point!” All proceeds benefit the 836NYC so be sure to pick the album up on iTunes or Amazon.
