When mastering, avoid the “do it all yourself” routine
“If you’re the artist, the mixer, the engineer and producer, you’re already wearing four hats. It’s hard to step outside of that and get a good mastering perspective. If you master an album yourself, you don’t allow your music to benefit from a newer, fresh perspective that a professional mastering engineer can bring.
