Private sellers should be traceable
You should have a reasonable amount of information about a seller in case they need to be reached in the future. Be wary of someone who uses a restricted number, or only has a generic Gmail or Hotmail e-mail account. Also watch for those who insist on delivering items to you personally or meeting at an unusual location. Understand that if things go wrong after the sale, sites like Craigslist will not be able to offer contact information to you of the seller due to privacy laws.
