Before entering the studio, do your homework
“Preproduction is the key. Doing preproduction allows you to plan everything out exactly before you walk into the studio. This saves time and money. First, tape yourself singing the song and find out where you actually are – good and bad. Then, try different phrasing and vocal tones. If it doesn’t sound good on a small deck, it will probably not sound good in the studio.”
