EXCLUSIVE: MICHAEL JACKSON’S GUITARIST SPEAKS TO MC
If you’ve turned on your television since the shocking death of Michael Jackson, you’ve no doubt seen the last rehearsal footage of the King of Pop and his band getting ready for his final tour, dubbed, This Is It. Up there sharing the stage with him is this striking blonde guitarist named Orianthi. The Australian born axe-slinger was already getting major praise from the likes of Santana and Steve Vai, but it was her electrifying bust-out performance with Carrie Underwood at the Grammy’s that got us all buzzed. We immediately made comparisons with Jennifer Batten, blonde-mohawked wearing shredder who shared the stage with Michael Jackson.
Apparently, just like millions of us, MJ’s people must’ve seen her tear it up for Carrie Underwood because just as we were making those Batten comparisons, Batten herself was reaching out to Orianthi through MySpace. And as you’ll hear in our NEW INTERVIEW WITH ORI, MJ’s people were also looking for Ori through MySpace and Facebook. Wow to think she got the gig of a lifetime through the internet?!
We decided to check in with Orianthi to see how she’s been dealing with the shock and the media frenzy she’s now a part of, and if she wanted to share any thoughts and feelings about her time with the King of Pop. Please click below to listen to our interview that we just did today.
