Retailers should never try to size up a customer
Retailers should never try to size up a customer. You cannot tell by looking what a customer is able to buy. In L.A., especially, it’s very deceptive. Some of the worst dressed people are also the wealthiest. You have to treat all customers with respect and just try to “qualify” them in conversation. A little small talk can give you a lot of clues about a person. And, that’s much more accurate than just relying on a visual.
