Pro Tools 101 will provide an overview of the workings of one of the industry’s most popular recording applications. Course participants will gain hands-on experience with Pro Tools 7.4 and MIDI controllers under the guidance of a certified Pro Tools instructor.
Prerequisites:
Enrollment is open to anyone seriously interested in the field of professional audio production and music recording; no previous experience is necessary.

• Edit tools and edit modes
• Time scales, ruler views and MIDI controls
• How to create and manage tracks
• How to save, locate and open sessions
• Steps to making your first recording
• How to import media into your session
• Steps to making your first MIDI recording
• Basic editing techniques
• Basic mixing techniques
• How to manage and finalize a session
Equipment:
The Recording Arts Center will provide a computer workstation for each participant preloaded with course-relevant software and music. Each participant will receive a copy of Pro Tools 101 Official Courseware, 3rd edition by Didgidesign and Frank Cook.
