It’s important in any stage of an artist’s career to tour. It’s integral for an artist’s development. That’s where the rubber meets the road. Not only is that where artists make most of their money, but that’s how they develop fans and keep them over time. And that hasn’t changed at all. Plus, nowadays it’s more competitive and it’s more difficult, so if you have a touring base you have an edge on other bands. No matter how often styles of music change, performing live will never die.
