In a band, no one person is good at everything. It’s best to give jobs to the individuals strongest in their fields. One member may deal with finances, another with tour routing. Even though individual jobs should be assigned, the musician-turned-businessman still needs to keep an upper hand. There’s definitely an aspect to a music career that’s business-oriented. If you don’t want to embrace that in one way or another, you have to have people who can do it for you. Even then, you still have to be a part of it. Otherwise things may get done in a way you don’t want them done.
