The Malibu Music Awards, part of the Malibu Arts Festival held July 26-27 in Malibu, CA, is opening its doors to songwriters from around the country. Submissions are now being accepted from Sonicbids songwriters in 11 different categories. Cash prizes will be provided to the top three winners in each category. Also, one grand prize winner will receive a performance slot at the festival, airfare to L.A., free stay at a five-star hotel (Malibu Beach Inn) and a recording session with Gold- and Platinum-producing artist Carl Graves, formerly of Oingo Boingo. A panel of music industry professionals will review each submitted song and will judge based on lyrics, melody and structure.
